Alpine Motel and Lodge which is centrally located in the township of Ohakune – the closest town to the Turoa Skifield.
Ohakune adjoins New Zealand`s only World Heritage Park Tongariro, famous for its magnificent scenery, splendid walks including the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, and is also home to Mt Doom and Gollum`s Pool. This is Middle Earth at its finest.
Close to shops, picture theatre, supermarket, ski shops etc, we have 9 well appointed ground floor units, including spacious self contained chalets, all of which are serviced daily.
New to the Alpine, our 4 bedroom fully self contained townhouse.
We also have a forty bed lodge which consists of two, three and four berth rooms with shared facilities, and central kitchen area with TV.
Our Restaurant SASSI`S with its deserved reputation, offers superb casual dining in a relaxed warm atmosphere. We are fully licensed and open seven days a week for breakfast and dinner.
Facilities
We offer quality "All year round" accommodation, catering for - the skier in winter - and the many people who enjoy our diverse range of summer activities that are unique to this special alpine region.
After a tiring day on the mountain there`s nothing like soaking in our hot spa, then enjoying a meal in our fully licensed restaurant, "Sassi`s Bistro", which boasts a reputation second to none.
For the skier we can arrange discounted ski hire, shuttle services to both Turoa And Whakapapa ski areas, and can assist in arranging babysitting if required.
Our units are both warm and comfortable with good heating, electric blankets, Sky satellite TV, telephone, internet plug ins, and most have kitchen facilities.
As we are situated in the heart of the town centre, all the usual facilities (shops, banks, theatres and galleries etc) are all within a minutes stroll.
We now have Wireless broadband internet access from our units & Backpackers (& the backpackers also has an internet Kiosk setup as well).
2 minutes drive to Tongariro World Heritage Park, 40 minutes to Whakapapa Ski Area.
Transport to both ski areas depart from your door.
