Corru Gate is stylish and different. City chic meets country style in this semi-detached and architecturally designed, 3 bedroomed, contemporary lifestyle accommodation. Set in 7 acres of Nelson paradise less than 30 min from Abel Tasman, Corru Gate has a distinctive NZ flavour - dark stained board and batten, and corrugated iron. Barn red detailing, railway sleepers, sunny colours, with harakeke (flax), ferns and koru add to the kiwi styling.
Corru Gate is built and maintained around sustainability principles. We value our natural environment (open spaces, flax, birdlife and native trees). We have a spray free hobby orchard – grab a lemon for your G&T on the deck, or cut open a delicious grapefruit for breakfast.
Children are welcome here – there is a brilliant playground and treehut and sometimes a 40m waterslide in summer. There’s a babysitter list too!
Welcoming and comfortable, Corru Gate has a zany kitchen, a classy bathroom (bath with shower over), a sunny, open plan lounge/dining area viewing on to a native garden, as well as French doors opening onto a sun-drenched deck and private designer garden. To keep you toasty warm in winter, there are heaters and a wood-burner. Corru Gate has its own laundry in your adjacent carport. Fully equipped with mod cons (broadband, dishwasher, microwave, stereo, satellite TV, video/DVD, own telephone line, hairdryer, BBQ), the accommodation features quality furniture (including great beds), local and NZ art, and sculpture.
Corru Gate is central for exploration and adventure. Wander over our gently sloping farm paddocks (with sheep and lambs), taking in the view of Tasman Bay. Cafes, galleries and shops are 3 minutes away in the seaside village of Mapua. Nearby - beaches, an inlet, sea kayaking, Touch the Sea, horse riding, golf, country bike riding. Five vineyards are just up the road. Hoglund’s Glass, World of Wearable Art, and most Nelson potteries are 20-25 minutes away; Rabbit Island and Kina Golf course - 10 minutes; Kaiteriteri Beach/Abel Tasman - 30; superb swimming rivers 10–20. Three national parks are within an hour; Nelson city is an easy 30km away.
