Matua Gardens Retreat is a private, luxury retreat nestled above Robinsons Bay, Akaroa Harbour.
With just one guest suite it is a haven from the world for people who value peace and privacy.
The guest suite has been created from the lounge and bedroom of the original saw miller’s cottage. Both rooms open onto the deck and veranda and the fabulous sea views are available from all rooms including the en-suite.

Hosts Sue & Richard create beautiful experiences based on nourishing traditions. Every guest experiences Matua Gardens Retreat in a unique way by combining the wide variety of choices to suit their own needs.
The suite is semi-self contained and can be fully catered if required.
We have been looking after the environment since well before it became the trendy thing to do. We work closely with several community groups.
