Come and see why everyone loves staying at 4 Star Pinedale Lodge in Methven-Mt Hutt village. Close to everything and a homely, relaxed base for skiing the Southern Alps, exploring the stunning Ashburton district and Lord of the Rings country, or just hanging out.
Variety of room options - including your own modern and clean self-contained 2 bedroom apartment or private double or twin rooms, dorms or family rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom in the backpacker lodge. Pinedale is also the only backpackers with it`s own 4WD van offering return trips to Mt Hutt, Mt Olympus, Mt Cheeseman, Porter Heights etc (additional charges apply). We`ll go where the snow is best.
The apartment is a home away from home with double glazing and air conditioning for your warmth and comfort. Sleeps up to 4 people with 1 double room and 1 twin room. Full kitchen with stylish stainless steel appliances (incl. gas hob, dishwasher), guaranteed hot water, TV and movie library, private garden, BBQ, mountain views, separate storage room. Laundry facilities available.
The lodge has a relaxed, friendly vibe, 2 spacious living areas with a big open fire and surrounding “love-pit”, high speed internet and wireless, free pool table and movies, as well as a large, fully equipped kitchen, individually heated bedrooms with beds fully made, ski tuning equipment, laundry, drying and storage facilities.
The base of Mt Hutt is only a 10 minute drive away and within 5 minutes walk are legendary pubs - Steelworx, The Blue Pub and Brown Pub, an art house `Cinema Paradiso`. The Visitor Centre is nearby as are supermarkets, a book shop, galleries, ski and snowboard shops and a gym. There are plenty of places to eat, including takeaways, pub meals, cafes and restaurants.
Nearby activities include skiing, snowboarding, hot air ballooning, jet boating, Lord of the Rings tours, tandem skydiving, hiking, golf, rafting, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, and horse-riding.
Pinedale and Methven is an easy 1 hour drive from Christchurch International Airport. 2.5 hours drive to stunning Lake Tekapo, 3.5 hours drive to Dunedin, 5 hours to Wanaka, 5.5 hours to Queenstown.
