Travellers taking the Southern Scenic Route make sure they stop at Colac Bay. Many back packers stay on to enjoy the atmosphere at Dustez Bak Pakas and a drink at the Colac Bay Tavern.
Colac Bay Tavern is a well presented and maintained country pub. As Dusty was a crayfisherman for 24 years, the bar has many excellent action photos.
The Tavern provides local residents and the surrounding farming community with pub services, take-out liquor store, pool table, bar meals and takeaways. Great bistro meals at the tavern, blue cod a speciality. Dusty recommends the lamb shank on mash with red wine jus, JUDGED BY LONELY PLANET AS "YUM".
There is ample customer parking on the street frontage and at the rear and one side of the Tavern. The other side has a large, pleasant lawn and garden with mature specimen trees, ideal for picnics on lazy summer afternoons.
Just 5 minutes walk down the road travellers will find an idyllic beach with safe swimming, ideal for surfing. Across the road from the tavern is a large children`s playground.
